Board reviews Traffic Calming Assessment; radar speed signs to be deployed in February

The board reviewed the Traffic Calming Assessment 2025 and approved deployment of three permanent and one mobile radar speed sign the first week of February; staff were asked to update the report and notify residents about golf-cart passing rules and crosswalk measures.
District Engineer Charlie Krebs reviewed the Tier 1 and Tier 2 traffic-calming strategies in the draft Traffic Calming Assessment 2025 and reported that Conway has started education-based road, bike and golf-cart safety measures.
Krebs said "three permanent and one mobile speed radar signs will be delivered throughout the property the first week in February" and that speeding violations have decreased. The board asked Krebs to update Page 9 of the report to include the Traffic Study conclusion and asked members to flag other areas of concern. Staff will notify residents about the existing mandate and potential signage including "Do not pass golf cart" signs at the front entrance and crosswalks; Pelican Sound is also considering bylaw adjustments for traffic violations.
The assessment combines engineering recommendations with resident education and short-term signage deployment; follow-up items include report edits and resident outreach.
