CDD hears storm surge resilience plan; staff cites potential for widespread flooding in a 10'–12' surge

The minutes record that Mr. Long "discussed a hypothetical regarding Hurricane Milton in which a topographic map showed that a 10’ to 12’ storm surge could have caused 45% to 55% of the community to be flooded." He said addressing the issue could take up to a decade and would require coordination with state, county and village authorities. The Board reached a consensus that Mr. Long and newly appointed Mr. Merrill will assist; Mr. Krebs was authorized to provide support as necessary.
