CDD authorizes RG Architects subconsultant to redesign two gatehouses; $62,500 design cost to be booked as deferred reimbursable

Eric Long presented a fee proposal from RG Architects, P.A. to redesign two gatehouses serving the River Club and related complexes; the project is a facelift rather than demolition. Long said the gatehouses have been hit repeatedly and need redesign; construction and permitting are expected to take 12 to 18 months.
The Board discussed zoning, elevations (a new elevation certificate may be needed) and whether the vendor would handle monuments; Mr. Long noted RG can provide 3D renderings and coordinate monument appearance. The minutes record that the Board discussed booking the $62,500 expenditure as a reimbursable deferred cost to be invoiced when the CDD issues financing so work can proceed without delay. On motion by Mr. Blumenthal, seconded by Mr. Mountford, with all in favor, the Board authorized Bowman to retain RG Architects as a subconsultant and authorized the Chair to execute documents after review by District Counsel and the District Manager.
Mr. Long was designated to lead on the gatehouses and neighborhoods; Mr. Blumenthal will serve as the Board liaison for communications and monthly updates.
