P&Z recommends Huerta Dog Kennel IUP with one-year review after neighbor complaints

The petitioner said the operation uses two different types of dogs — one to protect several flocks and another to herd — and that "two younger (of 4) that were still learning." Supervisor Nelson noted "the township had already spent over $1,000.00 and a considerable amount of time on complaints about this property," and Supervisor Forsman said neighbors could suffer "mental anguish."
The board balanced those complaints and the petitioner's explanation by voting to recommend approval with a required one-year review, giving the township a formal, time-limited opportunity to re-evaluate compliance and enforcement needs if problems continue.
