Loami trustees hear public-works, safety and LEMA updates; siren quotes sought

Public Works Superintendent Kyle Langenfeld reported tree removal at the dam and behind the community center; Trustee Todd Lawson said new Colburn Park signs have been installed and he is working with Sangamon County on additional Main Street signage. Mayor Lambert and Chief Stan Workman discussed frustrations with ordinance violations; Attorney Anthony Schuering asked Chief Workman to document his concerns for discussion with the mayor and clerk.
Under Loami Emergency Management (LEMA), ESDA Coordinator Matt Schmideler obtained three quotes for a new warning siren and said police-fire radio coordination has been advancing. Trustee Christina Stark reported upcoming community events (May 2 garage sales and pancake fundraiser; May 16 town cleanup; July 11 Fourth of July celebration) and said she worked with Clerk Grider on securing .gov email addresses for village employees.
The board then moved into executive session on personnel matters under 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) and later returned to open session without further public action on personnel.
