Loami trustees review budgets, park signage and public-safety updates

Trustees used committee reports on March 12 to update the board on budget and operational matters affecting parks, streets and public safety.
Trustee Courtney Schmideler, speaking for Finance, said each department has been provided its budget allocation and requested that departments submit line-item amounts by April 1. In Public Works, Trustee Todd Lawson said he is working with Public Works employee Jordan Combs and Craig Hall on materials for new signage at the baseball fields and directional signage to Colburn Park; Mayor Steven Lambert noted strong turnout at the OSLAD grant pre-bid meeting for Colburn Park improvements.
On public safety, Trustee Billy Cohen submitted updated photos of a property with ordinance violations. Chief Stan Workman reported that "two Loami police officers are certified in Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training" and noted a resident complaint about speeding on Witt Street. Mayor Lambert said any Police Department purchase for the warning siren must be included in the next fiscal-year budget and ESDA Coordinator Matt Schmideler is obtaining bids.
Trustee Christina Stark reported that "over 50 residents have enrolled in e-statements and around forty residents have signed up for automatic payments." The board did not take action on these reports at the meeting but assigned follow-ups to staff, including budget line-item submissions and continued coordination on signage and park grant work.
