Board approves first reading of policies and curriculum revisions; signs off on field trips and fundraisers
Summary
The board approved first readings of Policies 2200, 5200 and 8467, accepted revised math curriculum listings, and approved numerous field trips, conferences and fundraising activities for 2024–25.
The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School Board approved Policy & Regulation 2200 (Curriculum Content), 5200 (Attendance) and 8467 (Firearms and Weapons) on first reading during the Nov. 19 meeting. The motion was made by Mr. Grant and seconded by Mr. Page and approved by roll call.
Education items approved included revised curriculum listings for Algebra I, Algebra II, Algebra II Honors and related courses, field trip requests (e.g., Mock Trial to Monmouth County Courthouse, AP Art MET Museum visits) and a series of fundraising activities (Powderpuff football, Operation Sleighbells toy drive, art society fundraisers). The packet contained conference and workshop attendance requests for staff with associated registration and travel costs.
The board did not take final (second-reading or adoption) action on the policies during the meeting; the items were recorded as first readings. Field trips and fundraisers received board approval as part of Education agenda items 25–29.
