Board approves minutes, routine personnel and finance items in unanimous votes

Mrs. McGinty, Board President, called the Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School Board of Education to order at 6:32 p.m. The board approved a set of past meeting minutes, personnel packages, finance reports and policy items by unanimous roll call during its Dec. 10 regular meeting in the RFH Learning Commons. "Our mission is to empower all of our students with the tools to find their passions and thrive as knowledgeable, confident, resilient, creative, and compassionate citizens of a global community," the district mission statement reads, which Mr. Page read aloud early in the meeting.

On a motion by Mr. Grant and seconded by Mr. Page, the board approved minutes including Nov. 18 and Nov. 19 special and executive session minutes. Subsequent motions approved personnel items (moved by Mr. Grant, seconded by Mrs. McCabe), finance items (moved by Mrs. Whitehouse, seconded by Mr. Page), education items (moved by Mrs. Kiley, seconded by Mr. Page), and policy & planning items (moved by Mr. Grant, seconded by Mr. Page). Each of these motions passed by unanimous roll call. The board moved into executive session at 8:27 p.m. to discuss personnel and attorney–client privileged matters, reconvened at 8:35 p.m., and adjourned at 8:36 p.m.

Why it matters: The votes completed routine governance work—approving minutes, staff appointments and financial reports—that keeps the district operating and documents official board positions. The executive session indicates the board addressed confidential personnel or legal matters that are not public record.
