Darien Public Schools District #61’s Board of Education recessed into a closed session at 4:45 p.m. on July 22, 2025, to meet with a representative of a statewide association and to consider board self-evaluation, practices and procedures, or professional ethics under 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(16). Board President Karen Buckels presided; the meeting took place at Lace Elementary School.
The minutes record that the motion to enter closed session was recorded in the meeting minutes and carried on a roll-call vote. The minutes also identify Dr. Arlana Bedard of the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) as the association representative present. The board list of attendees included Karen Buckels, Allyson Renell, Travis Myers, Anthony Ramos, Dana Pavlu, Gabriela Ceferin and Katherine Fujiura; the record lists Dr. Langman as also present.
