Dr. Calderin told the board the district recommends reducing 31 teaching positions as part of the RIF. He said retirements and resignations (17 planned retirements and 15 resignations) affect certification matches and staffing needs; despite reductions, the district anticipates hiring nine new positions for next year. The district estimates the RIF would save about $4.6 million. Vice‑President Dominick opened the public hearing; no public comments were presented and the hearing was later adjourned.
