The Carlinville school board approved the annual Hazardous Route Resolution as presented for the 2026-27 school year.
Superintendent Dr. Becky Schuchman explained the resolution identifies students who live along routes considered dangerous to travel โ for example, routes that require crossing a railroad track or a highway โ and must be approved each year as required by Illinois Department of Transportation guidance. Sam Harding moved the motion to approve the resolution; Maya Reid seconded and the motion passed by voice vote with all present recorded as in favor and one member absent.
Approval of the resolution affirms the district's determination of hazardous walking or travel routes for use in transportation planning and eligibility for special transportation services where applicable.
