Carlinville Intermediate School Principal Kyle Smith briefed the Board of Education on programs intended to connect students to the community and support academic and extracurricular engagement.
Smith listed programs at CIS including Safety Patrol, High Impact Tutoring, Success in IAR, AR and Prodigy Math, a Japanese unit, Running Club, FORCE, Cavie Connections, Health Jam, a 5th-grade track meet and a fine arts festival. He also noted that CIS FORCE members created treat bags for each board member as part of the district spotlight.
The presentation emphasized student engagement across schools in the district and an array of classroom and extracurricular activities the board said support academic goals.
