Carlinville CUSD 1 board re-elects Kathy Norris as president during annual reorganization

Kathy Norris was re-elected board president at the Carlinville CUSD 1 Board of Education reorganization on April 13, 2026. The board convened in a brief sine die session to elect officers and conduct annual organizational business.
Superintendent Dr. Becky Schuchman served as president pro tem for the reorganization. Kyle Bradley moved a slate of officers naming Kathy Norris for president, Brandon Little for vice president and Maya Reid for secretary; the motion passed by roll-call vote 6-0 with Brandon Little noted as absent. "Kathy Norris assumed his role as Board President," the minutes state.
The board also appointed Theresa Gwillim as recording secretary and Craig Frankford as district treasurer; both appointments were approved by roll-call vote. Members designated an approved list of depositories and agreed to conform to existing board policy. The board set its regular meeting calendar for 2026-27, noting one December meeting at 5:30 p.m. and otherwise meeting on Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m.
Procedural actions were routine and approved unanimously where recorded. The district will publish the adopted meeting schedule and depository list as required by board policy.
