Superintendent Dr. Scott Schwartz praised music teacher Katie Bush for building a voluntary before-school chorus open to third- and fourth-grade students; he reported the program now includes 61 students and holds two concerts annually in December and May. Later, alumnus Brenden Miller reported his Eagle Scout project was selected by the Northeast Illinois Council for the Glenn A. Adams and Melinda W. Adams National Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year Award and will advance to the national level.
The recognitions highlighted district extracurricular growth and community recognition for student-led projects; no board actions were required for these items.
