Illini Central board approves August bills, auditor engagement and insurance renewals

The Illini Central CUSD 189 Board of Education met Aug. 21 in the ICGS Professional Development Room and carried a series of routine administrative actions, including approval of the July 17 minutes and the August bills. A roll-call vote approved payment of August 2025 bills with a 7–0 tally.
The board approved an updated engagement letter for auditor KEB and unanimously renewed employee benefits: health insurance with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, vision coverage through Blue Cross Blue Shield, and dental coverage with Guardian Dental. The board also set a public hearing on the FY2026 budget for 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 18, 2025 in the district professional development room.
Board motions on routine business passed with unanimous votes in open session; the consent agenda — which included a separate intergovernmental School Resource Officer agreement — passed 5–2 after a voice vote. President Brian Hughes called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
