The commission set the logistics for the applicant presentation season and gave staff direction on invitations. Chair Sharon Alto told members the commission has approximately $2,000,000 available to allocate and that total requests exceed that amount: "I'm gonna tell you that today that it's about 2,000,000. Maybe a little bit more," she said. Commissioners agreed to invite all applicants to present but emphasized that the rubric must be used to evaluate and prioritize awards.
Members also discussed specific program priorities (home repairs, accessibility modifications, transportation) and whether certain applicants duplicate services. The commission asked staff to attach the rubric to invitation letters and to require Harvard Community Senior Center to finish IRS paperwork by Sept. 1 or be excluded. Chair closed the meeting with a motion to adjourn moved by Miss Holt and seconded by Miss Nichols; the adjournment passed by voice vote.
