Students and coaches recognized; local donor to support Students of the Month
Summary
The board recognized four Students of the Month for January 2026 and several coaching awards. Brad Grcevic of Edward Jones pledged a donation to the Hope & Friendship Foundation on behalf of the students.
At the Jan. 20 meeting the Lemont Township High School District 210 Board of Education recognized students and staff accomplishments. Eleanor Adams, Erika Salaviejus, Alexis Frey and Katelynn Carnahan were presented as Students of the Month for January 2026. The board also recognized Special Olympics Basketball Skills competitors and named Rick Prangen as the NFHS Illinois Boys' Soccer Coach of the Year and Nick Hill and Brian Storako for a National High School Baseball Coaches Association Field of the Year distinction.
Lemont businessman Brad Grcevic of Edward Jones Inc. indicated he would make a donation to the Hope & Friendship Foundation on behalf of the Students of the Month. The donation was later recorded on the consent agenda as an anonymous $10,000 gift to support school-related functions and extracurricular activities.
