Principal: Lockdown drill, dental clinic and winter precautions set at Komarek School

Principal Diane Michelini told the board the school will run a lockdown drill on Nov. 18 after student arrival, has a late start on Nov. 20, Thanksgiving break Nov. 24–28, and a mobile dental clinic scheduled for Dec. 5; students will remain outside for recess unless the 'feels like' temperature is below 10°F.
Principal Diane Michelini updated the board on school operational items and student services at Komarek School on Nov. 11.
Michelini said there will be a lockdown drill on Nov. 18 that will occur "right after the students enter the building." She reminded families that Nov. 20 is a late start, Thanksgiving break runs Nov. 24–28 with a teacher institute on Nov. 24, and school resumes Dec. 1. A mobile dental clinic is scheduled for Dec. 5. With colder weather approaching Michelini reminded families to send coats, hats and gloves; the school will continue outdoor recess unless the "feels like" temperature drops below 10 degrees Fahrenheit.
She also thanked the PTA for organizing Halloween activities for elementary and junior-high students.
