The Komarek School District 94 Board of Education approved a set of policy updates, the 2026–2027 school calendar and monthly bills during its Jan. 13 regular meeting. President Chris Waas moved to approve the policy changes and Willie Merrill seconded; the roll-call vote recorded Yes votes from Arango, Merrill, Neumann, Obrock, Waas, Stevens and Will and the motion carried 7–0.
Also on the consent slate, the board approved bills payable for January 2026 in the amount of $141,680.30 (motion by Waas; seconded by Obrock), accepted a gift to the Industrial Arts classroom from Mr. Chris Savaglio valued at greater than $500, and unanimously approved the district calendar for 2026–2027. The calendar adopted sets the first day of school as Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2026, and the last day as Friday, May 27, 2027, and includes four full-day and four half-day teacher institutes with noon student dismissals on half-day institute dates.
