Illini Central CUSD 189’s Board of Education adopted the district’s FY2026 budget at its Sept. 18, 2025 meeting after holding a public budget hearing earlier that evening. Trustee Kent Renken made the motion to approve the budget and Nancy Robertson seconded; the board adopted the budget on a 6-0 roll‑call vote (Hughes, Hull, Lemme, Renken, Robertson and Boyd voting "aye").
Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Durbin presented the FY2026 budget during the hearing, which opened at 6:30 p.m. and was adjourned at 6:41 p.m. by President Brian Hughes; there was no public comment during the hearing. The board’s adoption completes the district’s formal budget process for the fiscal year and authorizes the administration to operate under the approved spending plan.
