Community members urge 'know your rights' workshops and support as ICE activity affects families

Luz Chavez, speaking as part of a rapid response team for Cicero/Berwyn, reported that roughly 100 people had been taken by ICE Border Patrol and urged district action; Sonya Rich, the district mental health coach, described students’ fear and noted staff are providing resources while requesting transportation for Unity students who were denied access to a high school play. Board leadership thanked speakers and said they would take comments into consideration.
