Cicero SD 99 approves multiple hires, resignations and summer program staff

The Cicero School District 99 board approved a lengthy personnel report at its Feb. 11 meeting that included certified and non‑certified hires, resignations, retirement rescissions and staff assignments for summer programs.
Approved certified actions included employment of Alexandra Werkau as a 5th‑grade co‑taught/resource LBS1 teacher at Columbus East School and multiple retirement notices for staff with specified effective dates. The board also approved rescinding previously scheduled retirement dates for Donata Heppner (to June 30, 2026) and Salome Kirimania (to June 30, 2026). The motion adopted the recommended lists of administrators and teachers for the 2026 summer school and ESY programs.
Non‑certified approvals authorized hires including a part‑time bus driver, substitute custodians and an interpreter; several resignations and leaves of absence were also recorded. The personnel report was approved on a unanimous roll call of members present.
