The Cicero School District 99 Board of Education approved routine but substantive consent items at its Feb. 11 meeting, covering payroll, operating expenses, contracts and several program approvals.
On a motion by Member Moreno, seconded by Member Couch, the board approved payrolls totaling $13,360,082.17 and total February expenses of $4,688,952.10. The consent motion also included approval of the 2026–27 school calendar, renewal of Open Kitchens for food services for 2026–27, a five‑year lease with Central States Bus Leasing for 10 new buses, and acceptance of a $15,000 donation from Chick‑fil‑A for attendance incentives at six elementary schools.
The consent bundle further included approval of an intergovernmental agreement to participate in the U.S. Department of State Exchange Visitor Program, an addendum to the Teaching Education Pathway Program with J. Sterling Morton School District 201, and travel authorization for board and staff to attend a recruitment fair in Madrid, Spain, April 13–18, 2026. The motion carried with all members present voting yes.
