D105 students honored; district raises $24,000 through Polar Plunge

The minutes also record that, under the leadership of Mrs. Megan Yarbrough, Mrs. Fuller and Mrs. Kowynia, more than 150 district participants took part in the D105 Polar Plunge and raised $24,000 for Special Olympics; Spring Avenue had the largest participation and won the Cool School Polar Plunge trophy. John Pluto addressed the board during public comment asking for district support on the speed limit on La Grange Road.
The districts’ announcements and recognitions were presented as celebratory items at the start of the meeting; no formal board action was required for the recognitions.
