Komarek trustees say facility projects complete; school 'ready to receive students'

Board member Suzy Stevens told trustees Aug. 12 that a set of summer building-and-grounds projects at Komarek School is finished and that the school is prepared for the new year. Work included retreading a stairwell in the renovated west building, replacement of doors in the east building and auditorium, window repairs above the preschool courtyard, repairs on the northeast elevation of the renovated building, refreshed asphalt and striping in parking and drop-off lanes and playground areas, a full deep cleaning and new exterior mulch.
"The school is in great shape and ready to receive our students and staff next week," Stevens said, adding thanks to Luis Gonzalez and the Buildings & Grounds team for their work. The board recorded the facilities update without further formal action; no additional funding requests or outstanding maintenance items were listed in the minutes.
