Board President Laura Garrett called the special meeting of the Lockport School District 91 Board of Education to order at 4:07 p.m. in the Milne Grove Conference Room on March 3, 2026. After roll call confirmed members Garrett, Oxley-Turner, Arvidson and Cutforth were present and Principal Jaime Koziol listed as in attendance, the board moved to consider a nonpublic session under state statute.
"Motion made by Oxley-Turner to enter a closed session at 4:09 p.m., seconded by Arvidson. Roll Call Vote: Ayes: Arvidson, Garrett, Cutforth, Oxley-Turner. Nays: none. Abstain: none. Motion carried," the minutes state. The board cited 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) as the statutory basis for closing the meeting to discuss "the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the District or legal counsel for the District." The closed-session discussion is not included in the open-meeting transcript.
The board resumed the open meeting at 7:24 p.m. after a motion by Board President Garrett, seconded by Oxley-Turner, which passed on roll call.
