The board invited public comment but recorded that no emailed comments had been received and that no members of the public addressed the board.
Board member Arvidson moved "to enter a closed session at 4:11 p.m.," seconded by Oxley-Turner; the board voted by roll call with Ayes from Arvidson, Garrett, Cutforth and Oxley-Turner and no dissent. The meeting record cites 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) as the statutory basis for closing the meeting to consider "the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the District or legal counsel for the District." The minutes also note that an increase in compensation that falls under the Local Government Wage Increase Transparency Act must remain open to the public, per the cited statute.
