Interim Superintendent Dr. Betz outlined a staffing restructure at the March 25 special meeting, telling the board the district faces a budget shortfall in which expenses exceed revenue. She proposed creating a Building Coordinator position that would absorb some responsibilities and adding a Student Information Systems role to modernize recordkeeping.
Dr. Betz said the goal of the plan is to preserve programs while reducing personnel costs and stated in open session, "no programs will be cut, just positions." She framed the changes as a way to keep pace with technology and to redirect resources to teaching and other student supports.
Board members voiced support for the administration's work to identify savings and instructed Dr. Betz to provide community information about the proposed restructuring and how duties and staffing would change.
