The Lindop School District 92 Board of Education voted March 25 to approve several personnel measures aimed at reducing the district's operating deficit, including the nonrenewal of a principal's contract and a reduction in force that the board said will save $449,872.75.
During the open session reconvened at 7:05 p.m., trustees voted to adopt a resolution authorizing the nonrenewal of the principal's contract and related reclassification changes. The motion carried on a 4–0 recorded vote with President Patterson, Vice President Dawson, Ms. Johnson and Mr. Myrick voting yes; Mr. Buchanan, Ms. Griffin and Mr. Hannah were absent.
The board also approved a Reduction in Force, described in the motion as creating "$449,872.75" in cost savings. Trustees expressed appreciation for Interim Superintendent Dr. Betz and staff for identifying savings and asked that the administration communicate the restructuring plan to the community.
In separate resolutions the board authorized the honorable dismissal of listed staff members at the end of the 2025–2026 school year, including Patricia Gray, Anna Morris, Almidia Smith, Linda Paul, Nadine Rodriguez, Yesenia Severiano-Lopez, Arnita Flie and Marcella Hobbs. The board also approved honorable dismissal of several teachers, naming Desarae Braun, Jennifer Zinga, Emily Mooney and Roger Nickles; three additional teachers — Dinasjah Washington, Nicholas Zydakis and Addison Anerson — were listed as "may be bumped based on CBA" and therefore potentially affected depending on contractual seniority and bumping rights.
Board minutes show the motions were moved and seconded as recorded: the reduction in force motion was moved by President Patterson and seconded by Ms. Johnson; the teacher dismissals motion was moved by Mr. Myrick and seconded by Mr. Dawson. Each contested action recorded the same 4–0 yes vote among members present.
The board did not provide immediate operational detail in the meeting minutes about which reassignments or program changes would follow; trustees instructed Dr. Betz to provide further information to the community about the proposed restructuring and next steps.
