Board approves 36-month IGS gas and electricity contracts

The Lincolnwood School District 74 Board of Education approved two separate 36-month contracts with energy supplier IGS during its Dec. 4 meeting. Member Jay Oleniczak moved approval of the natural gas contract at a rate of $5.045 per decatherm beginning August 2026; Secretary John P. Vranas seconded. The motion passed with Ayes recorded from all seven board members.
Immediately afterwards the board approved a 36-month electricity contract with IGS at a rate of $0.1001 per kilowatt-hour beginning April 2026. Both contract approvals were presented by the Finance Committee and approved without recorded opposition.
