Mendoza described co-teaching as a primary strategy in elementary and middle-school classrooms that benefits EL students and enriches learning for all students. She also noted a partnership between the EL department and school libraries to provide books that honor students' languages and cultures. Mendoza thanked board members, staff and families and emphasized that EL success is a collective effort across the district.
