Superintendent Dr. Ganan presented the district's proposed general-education staffing plan for the 2026–27 school year and recommended keeping the district's total general-education classroom staffing at 48 full-time-equivalent positions for now.
He said the district is closely monitoring Spring Avenue fourth-grade sections and 6th-grade enrollment (noting 28 students in the current 6th-grade count, exclusive of the CD classroom), and that fluctuations in enrollment could prompt future staffing changes. Dr. Ganan also noted one upcoming retirement in the Gurrie building that will need to be filled; no specific hires were proposed at the meeting.
The board received the presentation as an informational item and will revisit staffing if enrollment trends warrant changes.
