At the Sept. 16 meeting, Mrs. Suzy Stevens gave a "big thank you" to the buildings and grounds crew for extensive summer work to prepare the buildings for students and staff. She listed multiple projects: a retreaded stairwell in the renovated west building; replacement of doors in the east building and auditorium; window repairs above the preschool courtyard and at the renovated building's northeast elevation; refreshed asphalt and striping for parking, drop-off lanes and the playground; touch-up painting on door frames, railings and classrooms; sealing and treatment of the new gym floor; landscaping with fresh mulch; and a deep cleaning of school facilities.
Stevens framed the work as preparatory for a successful school opening and the board acknowledged the staff effort. No cost details or contract vendors were provided in the minutes.
