The Komarek School District 94 Board of Education on July 8 approved increases to family fees for the district's Before and After Care program and boosted hourly pay for staff who supervise the program.
On a motion by President Chris Waas, seconded by Holly Neumann, the board approved a $2-per-day increase for the before-care program (from $12 to $14) and a $3-per-day increase for after-care (from $18 to $21) for the 2025–2026 school year. The same vote approved raising supervisor pay from $20 per hour to $25 per hour. The motions carried by roll call vote with Yes: Arango, Neumann, Waas, Stevens, Will; Absent: Merrill, Obrock (5–0).
Board members said the changes respond to program costs and staffing realities; the board record shows no dissenting votes. The increases and the higher hourly rate were presented as separate motions and were adopted as part of the business agenda for the coming school year.
The board did not specify an exact implementation date beyond the 2025–2026 school year start; families and staff were directed to expect updated program materials in the district's summer communications.
