The Jacksonville School District #117 Board of Education held a public hearing Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025, at the Jacksonville Middle School Auditorium to consider the district’s intent to sell up to $2,100,000 in school fire prevention and safety bonds to help pay for construction of the Murrayville/Woodson Elementary School, Chief Financial Officer Rick Cunningham said.
Cunningham told the board that the bond proceeds, together with sales-tax revenue, would fund the elementary school construction. President Beard opened the hearing for public questions and comments; no visitors spoke. The board adjourned the public hearing and resumed its regular meeting at 7:24 p.m. that night. The hearing record does not show a vote on the bonds during the hearing segment.
