Board member Suzy Stevens gave a detailed rundown of required inspections and maintenance work slated for Komarek School over the summer months.
Stevens said the district scheduled a fire alarm inspection, elevator inspection, fire extinguisher inspection, and bleacher inspection. She outlined summer projects: retreading a stairwell in the renovated west building; replacing auditorium, storage room, and locker room doors in renovated and east buildings; repairing windows above the preschool courtyard and northeast elevation; refreshing asphalt and striping in the parking lot, drop-off lanes, and playground; a whole-school deep clean; HVAC maintenance including filter changes; and exterior landscaping and watering. She thanked Luis Gonzalez for coordinating the inspections and projects.
The board did not authorize new capital spending at the meeting; items discussed were presented as planned maintenance and summer work to be completed before the next school year.
