The Jacksonville School District #117 Board of Education voted unanimously Dec. 17 to approve the district's 2025 Certificate of Tax Levy. Mrs. Stewart moved the motion and Mr. Lonergan seconded; the roll call vote recorded Yea: Stewart, Lonergan, Trace, Pool, Leonard, Wilson, Beard.
The levy approval followed a referenced public hearing on Truth in Taxation during the meeting. In the same session the board approved the FY25 Annual Financial Report, prepared by Zumbahlen, Eyth, Surratt, Foote and Flynn, Ltd., during which Chief Financial Officer Rick Cunningham presented the Treasurer's Report and noted "the district is 42% of its way through the fiscal year." The board recorded the levy and annual report votes as unanimous.
