Kathleen Beard, a teacher at Jacksonville High School, introduced Benni Zasendorf, assistant principal of Herzog-Ernst Gymnasium in Uelzen, Germany, who addressed the board about his experiences with the exchange program over many years.
Board members heard that the program has been a longstanding international exchange for students and staff; the presentation emphasized continuity and personal experience rather than new policy changes. The recognition was part of the meeting’s recognition agenda and required no board action.
