Principals report on FAFSA night, PBIS, Book Blast and student programs

High, middle and grade school principals updated the board on college/career events, PBIS behavior work, Book Blast, PE skill progression and technology support including The Class and Wall of Fame management.
School leaders updated the board on recent student programming and supports at the Nov. 18 meeting. High School Principal Annie Baugher highlighted college-and-career readiness field trips, a FAFSA night, a resume workshop with sophomores, a Veteran's Day assembly and the Giving Tree and FFA canned-food drive. She also said the administration is working on guidelines for parent and athlete conduct at sporting events.
Middle School Principal Kyra Fancher described Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) progress and reported staff feedback on a new short recess for middle-school students. Grade School Principal Cassy Carey summarized a successful Book Blast program to build students' personal libraries and discussed skill progression in physical education. Superintendent Durbin relayed the Technology Department report that referenced The Class's support for the Veteran's Day assembly and management of a Wall of Fame device which houses sports stats and pictures.
Principals emphasized continued focus on student engagement and staff support; no board action was required on the program updates.
