Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Durbin updated the Illini Central CUSD 189 Board on the status of the district's building project at the Nov. 18 meeting. She identified three outstanding issues: drainage off the back of the Cougar Center, the meter for the new addition, and ventilation for new welders.
Dr. Durbin said once those items are addressed, "the project will be completed and the balance of the project will be paid in full." The board did not vote on contracting authority that evening; Dr. Durbin indicated the district is working with contractors and vendors to resolve the items so final payment can proceed.
Board members asked for oversight as the punch-list items are finished and final invoices are prepared. Additional updates will be provided to the board as contractors confirm timelines and corrective work is completed.
