Illini Central board approves FY27 risk plan, wide-ranging policy updates

The Illini Central CUSD 189 Board of Education approved a multi-item consent agenda at its Nov. 18 meeting that included the district's FY27 Risk Management Plan and the FY25 Annual Statement of Affairs.
Nancy Robertson moved the consent agenda; Amilee Bradshaw seconded. The motion carried by voice vote, 6-0. The packet of items included first readings of numerous Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) policy updates covering governance (2:120, 2:150), personnel (3:50, 5:10, 5:185), business and finance (4:10, 4:30, 4:80, 4:110), curriculum and instruction (6:60, 6:130, 6:210) and pupil services and conduct (7:70, 7:130, 7:180). The board recorded the motion on the consent agenda in the minutes without additional separate votes on each policy.
Board members said the consolidated approach was intended to move routine and recommended revisions forward efficiently while allowing time for individual policy review if needed at future meetings. The approval will allow the district to finalize risk-management planning for FY27 and proceed with policy implementation steps and additional readings where required.
