District 112 narrows dual-language evaluation RFP to three finalists after 10 proposals

District 112 officials described the dual-language program evaluation Request for Proposal process and next steps for a vendor selection. Assistant Superintendent Dr. Michael Rodrigo and Mr. Castro, the district's Director of Multilingual Services, told trustees that the RFP was publicly distributed in December and that the district received ten proposals. A Student Success Subcommittee with dual-language teachers from Oak Terrace and Red Oak reviewed redacted proposals using a weighted rubric and identified three highest-rated submissions for further reference checks.
Rodrigo said he is conducting reference checks and plans to present a final vendor recommendation for board approval at the Regular Board Meeting on Feb. 17, 2026. If the board approves, Rodrigo told trustees the evaluation work would begin immediately and that data collection would continue through June with a final report expected in August or September 2026. He also noted District 112's participation in the ECRA EL Consortium, which aggregates EL assessment data from more than 100 districts and may inform the evaluation.
