Board tables 3-year lease for Koch Street bus barn after questions on fueling and tanks

Superintendent Dr. Danielle Owens recommended the board approve a lease between Pekin CSD 303 and the City of Pekin for a portion of the Koch Street bus barn facility, effective July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2029, at an annual cost of $95,000 for the first year.
When President Ryan Wrigley opened the floor, board members asked about exclusive fueling rights, the condition and maintenance status of fuel tanks, and whether the district would assume long-term responsibilities for the fueling system. Citing those unresolved operational concerns, Member Terry Fischer moved to table the lease until amendments could be made to the current lease; Joe Alesandrini seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
