Norridge SD 80 board approves three-year eLearning plan for emergency use

The Norridge School District 80 Board voted unanimously Oct. 21 to approve a three-year eLearning plan for Leigh and Giles schools to be used only for emergencies such as inclement weather or building incidents.
At its Oct. 21 meeting, the Norridge School District 80 Board of Education voted unanimously to approve a three‑year eLearning plan for 2025–2028 covering Leigh and Giles schools. Superintendent Mrs. Guzik presented the plan and said it is intended for emergency use only.
"West 40 mandates a hearing for the initial approval of our three-year eLearning plans," Mrs. Guzik told the board during the public hearing. The board opened a public hearing on the plan, received no public comments, and adjourned the hearing before taking the approval vote. The motion to approve was moved by Mrs. Theodore and seconded by Mrs. Lala; the recorded vote listed seven yeas and no nays.
The board and administration described the plans as contingency measures for inclement weather or building emergencies; implementation details and any annual changes will return to the board for later approval as required.
