Mount Vernon SD 80 approves hires, resignations and administrative contract renewals

After returning from closed session, the board approved a bundle of personnel actions Feb. 12. Certified hires were approved, including Melissa Koch as Homebound Instructor. The board accepted resignations: Makisha Davis (Building Secretary at JL Buford Intermediate Education Center), effective Feb. 19, 2026, and Stacy Hayes (Beta Club Sponsor at Zadok Casey Middle School), effective at the end of the 2025–2026 school year.
The board also approved a maternity leave for Brynlee Keen (beginning in April with return at the start of 2026–2027) and accepted the retirement of Marshana Fleming effective Dec. 31, 2029. Additionally, the board approved 2-year administrative contracts beginning Aug. 1, 2026 for Adrienne Lyday, Doug Jones and Katie Baumhoegger as assistant principals; all such motions passed on unanimous recorded votes among members present.
