At its Nov. 13 meeting the Mount Vernon City Schools, District 80 Board of Education adopted a resolution estimating the amounts necessary to be levied for 2025. Jaymie Nunnery moved to adopt the tentative levy, seconded by Sierra Daniels; the motion passed on a unanimous roll-call vote (Ayes listed in the minutes: Nunnery, Daniels, Blok, Flanigan, Reynolds, Jackson).
Board minutes note the state requirement that the levy resolution be adopted at least 20 days prior to extension and that the 2025 levy must be filed with the County Clerk in December. The motion establishes the district’s estimated levy for submission; any final tax rates will be set after required calculations and public notice.
