The Meridian Community Unit School District #223 Board of Education met Jan. 7 in the Meridian Junior High School boardroom and approved routine business including a consent agenda with $449,141.86 in accounts payable. President John Smith called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.; the board recorded members Behmer, Collins, DeVries, Huber, Morrow and Rhodes as present.
During new business the board authorized submission of an ISBE School Maintenance Grant application and approved the MJHS main gymnasium floor refinishing project and the SVHS Course Guide. The meeting adjourned to closed session at 6:48 p.m. and reconvened at 7:27 p.m.; item 17.1 was postponed with no action taken.
