Board updates PRESS Plus policies and approves 2026–27 tentative calendar, authorizes FY2027 budget prep
Summary
The board approved a set of PRESS Plus policy updates, adopted the 2026–2027 tentative school calendar (first day Aug. 14, 2026; last day May 21, 2027 without emergency days), and authorized the superintendent to begin preparing the FY2027 budget.
The board approved several PRESS Plus policy updates that had been on hold (Issues 111–115) as part of the policy manual updates. The motion to accept the policy updates passed unanimously among present members.
The board also approved the tentative 2026–2027 school calendar. The first day for students is scheduled for Aug. 14, 2026 and the last regular day without emergency days is May 21, 2027; emergency makeup days are May 24–28, 2027. Administration will finalize early dismissal dates and posted a draft calendar online at www.mendotahs.org.
Finally, the board authorized the superintendent to begin preparing the FY2027 district budget to commence formal budget work for the next fiscal year.
