Principal Masini told the board that Semester 1 exams are scheduled for Dec. 18, 19 and 22 and that final exams are cumulative and worth 15% of the final grade. She explained the district’s exemption criteria: five or fewer absences, fewer than 30 discipline points, at least a 'B' in the class, and passing all classes to qualify; students who earn exemptions may still take finals but those scores will only be used if they improve the final grade.
Separately, the board reviewed the proposed 2026–2027 academic calendar. Board members and community stakeholders had raised questions about spring break timing and the observance of Veterans' Day; Dr. Aughenbaugh will gather additional input from faculty and staff and present a tentative calendar at the January board meeting.
