Director of Special Services Dr. Angle Diggs described persistent staffing challenges in special education and said the district has relied on contracted services to meet students’ needs. Diggs reported completion of I-Star compliance reporting and alternative-placement work, and noted transportation cost-sharing collections of more than $16,000. The board also approved an employment agreement for the Director of Special Education for SY 2026–27.
Votes on the personnel package were recorded: AYE — Myles, Chalmers, Armstrong, Pollard, Richardson and Barnett; Abstain — Webb. The motion carried. The personnel approvals take effect in July and August as indicated in the meeting packet.
